Lucca, Saturday 27 November 2021 – The Barsanti and Matteucci Foundation hosted us at the Guinigi Chapel for the event entitled “The internal combustion engine: yesterday, today and tomorrow”. Professor Beconcini, the new president of the foundation, organized the event to remember the two inventors of the internal combustion engine.

The mayor of Lucca opened the event with a speech, followed by the president of ACI Lucca, the director of IMT, the president of the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca and the president of the Club Balestro. Mrs. Beconcini presented the foundation with a short video that explained Barsanti and Matteucci’s story.

Then, we presented our Formula Student project too!

To conclude, Dr. Luca Manneschi (president of the ASI culture commission), Arch. Massimo Ruffilli (president of ACI Florence) and prof. Engr. Giovanni Ferrara (University of Florence) spoke about the vehicles in the future as objects of art and culture, in relationship with fashion and ecological transition.

There were more than 30 historic vehicles exhibited in the garden of the San Francesco complex, including our car.
